WHAT IS HEAVY-DUTY RACKING?
Heavy-duty racking is a robust and durable storage system that can hold heavy and bulky items. It’s made of reinforced steel and used in industrial settings such as warehouses and factories. Many of BiGDUG’s racking systems are manufactured from galvanised or powder-coated steel, making them rust and corrosion resistant to withstand demanding industrial environments.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM WEIGHT CAPACITY OF BiGDUG RACKING?
The maximum weight capacity of BiGDUG racking depends on the type of racking and the bay size. Our BiG800 racking range can hold up to 800kg UDL* per shelf and 3200kg UDL* per unit for 4-level racking bays. We also have longspan racking, which can hold 1000kg UDL* and pallet racking up at 3600kg UDL* per level. HOW OFTEN SHOULD RACKING BE INSPECTED?
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends a rigorous racking inspection take place at least once every 12 months by a SEMA-approved racking inspector. If the racking has been damaged or moved, it should be inspected more frequently.
Your organisation’s nominated Person Responsible for Racking Safety (PRRS) should do a quick check of your racking system regularly.
