IS A STANDING DESK GOOD FOR YOU?
Yes, a standing desk is incredibly good for you if you use it correctly. As a general rule, you should aim for around an hour of standing for every one to two hours you spend sitting down. Start by trying 15-30 minutes on your feet. Regular movement is far better than uninterrupted standing sessions, which is why an adjustable height desk is such a reliable choice – you can alternate between sitting and standing at the touch of a button.
HOW DO YOU OPERATE A SIT STAND DESK?
Most stand-up desks have an electric motor and an easy-to-use control panel located just beneath the desktop. Entry-level standing desks feature simple UP/DOWN controls to raise or lower the desktop to your preferred height. For even more convenience, consider a height adjustable desk with programmable presets – you can save up to four of your preferred heights and find them automatically with a single push of a button.
HOW HIGH SHOULD A STAND-UP DESK BE?
The perfect height for your adjustable desk depends on how tall you are. For stand-up desk work, you should raise the desktop so your elbows are at a 90° angle when typing. Position your monitor so it’s around 50-70cm (20-28”) from your face. The top of the screen should be at eye level with a slight upward tilt of around 10-20°. Our standing office desk collection offers adjustable heights anywhere from 600mm to 1300mm and above – perfect for shared offices and co-working spaces where workstations are available for multiple users.
HOW SHOULD YOU STAND AT A HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE DESK?
To work properly at an office standing desk, you should adopt a neutral, relaxed stance and keep your feet aligned with your shoulders so weight is distributed evenly. Keep your knees slightly bent to avoid locking, and stand tall with a straight neck to maintain your spine’s natural S curve. Don’t slouch or lean to one side – to get the maximum benefit from your sit-stand desk, you should always remain relaxed in an upright position.
