Sodick Europe required additional storage space at their headquarters - a purposebuilt facility that acts as their operational centre for sales and marketing, storage, temperature-controlled showroom as well as training and meeting rooms. In 2019 BiGDUG had originally supplied and installed a two-tier shelving system with a raised aisle, however Sodick Europe now required additional storage space for both parts and consumables.

The BiGDUG solution needed to ensure that the new storage space created would fit seamlessly within the existing storage facility. BiGDUG carried out a detailed site survey to calculate the additional shelving required that would increase Sodick Europe’s storage capacity. The position of the shelving expansion required the partial dismantlement of the existing shelving and cladding before the new shelving could be added and extended. The dismantled materials were then re-built in a new location to complete the installation. As part of the solution BiGDUG supplied and installed a staircase with mesh partitioning and access door to provide limited access for approved personnel to the raised aisle floor without compromising the adjustability of the shelving.
