Selectequip has a portfolio of over 7,000 products and rapid growth in their online business meant their warehouse was struggling to cope with the increase in the volume of products to be stocked.

BiGDUG were approached to provide advice and recommendations on suitable shelving options available to Selectequip that would double the existing storage capacity and meet their growing needs.

Initially Selectequip were looking for more ground floor high level shelving that they could access with safety steps. BiGDUG’s storage specialists recommended an alternative solution using raised aisle racking that would provide much easier, more efficient access to pick locations.

The BiGDUG cost effective storage solution included two steel staircases, raised walkways and a pallet gate for bulk goods loading and unloading to the upper level. The structure is freestanding and if needed can be taken down and moved or reconfigured in the future, unlike a traditional mezzanine floor.

For Selectequip, the solution was delivered and installed within 3 weeks. BiGDUG’s team of fitters worked in coordination with the Selectequip daily pick and pack operation, minimising any impact on operations.
