Poor fitting shelves
28 Sep 2019 |

Easy to assemble but the shelves are too big. Trying to force them into the unit either breaks the corner of the chipboard or warps the steel surround/uprights!
I had a second hand one of these units before from wifes old work when they had a clear out and they were the same but assumed the chipboard with this had expanded over time.

Simple construction
18 Sep 2019 |

I’ve been a customer of big dug shelving before and was extremely pleased with my purchase. This item doesn’t seem to be working as well for some reason.
As I was constructing the shelving units I noticed that the wooden shelves did not fit so easily into the spaces allocated. One end would continually pop up. And when I attempted to put it back in, the other end would pop up. Not to worry, I decided that when loaded, this wouldn’t be an issue.
However, even when finished building the units, the whole thing would wobble very precariously. I imagined that I must have missed some connectors or had inadvertently not followed the instructions carefully enough. But despite checking and rechecking, I can’t figure out why, even when loaded the shelves seem that they are about to topple over. I have a level surface and four other types of Big Dug shelving that are all stable (red, and orange units). Maybe there is something I’m missing. Any help would be appreciated before disaster befalls me and my stacked shelves.
