Gratnells storage units

There is a particular type of storage system that's seen pretty much everywhere in hospitals, schools and colleges. Called Gratnells storage units, they consist of frames which hold a range of trays, baskets and shelves with movable runners. This makes for a versatile, fully adjustable storage system that can be used in schools and colleges to hold items like toys, paint brushes, paper and finished artwork. In hospitals they are commonly used to hold surgical instruments, bandages and dressings, and files of documents among other things. The more heavyweight version of the Gratnells storage unit has frames that are built from square steel tube with slots at 25mm intervals. These slots allow maximum flexibility in use. The steel is degreased and phosphated to prevent the possibility of rust forming, and it is finished in a tough epoxy coating. It includes adjustable nylon-coated runners which are made of steel and have a special lug which, when moved upwards, stops the runners from being accidentally knocked out of position.

Manouverability of the Gratnell storage units

Some Gratnells storage units have wheels so that they are essentially trolleys which can be used to carry a complex range of items neatly and securely in trays from one place to another. They are commonly used in hospitals where a particular set of surgical instruments and dressings can be prepared and stored in one place, and then moved to another location as needed. There's a particular variety of Gratnells storage units that are used in schools. These have a light but strong bumper-grade plastic frame. As a result, they're low-cost and are ideal for use in a classroom environment since youngsters are less likely to be hurt if they fall or bump against them. Their fully modular design means they can be used as smaller units or linked together to make a larger storage system, should the need arise. The plastic-framed versions are usually available in a range of bright colours, which makes them particularly pleasing for young children. The range of colours has the added benefit of enabling colour-coding to be used for a variety of different purposes in schools and colleges. For example, art materials like paint brushes and different types of paper could be kept in blue trays and science materials like filters, funnels and litmus paper for example can he held in red trays. Calculators could reside in yellow trays, and white trays could be the home of stationery items like pens, pencils and erasers. For playtime, toys could be kept in green trays, and trainsets could be shunted into brown trays. In addition to being lightweight and low-cost, these Gratnells storage units are also completely recyclable. This makes them ideal for schools, colleges and other organisations which have environmental policies and wish to spread the message of the importance of using materials and items that can be recycled wherever possible. Most firms selling Gratnells storage units will be able to supply them either in parts or fully assembled and ready to use straight away on delivery, as you wish.
